Donate Time

  • Hall Twp. Food Pantry is a client-choice pantry (set-up like a grocery store) which enables clients to shop and select the food they want.
  • It takes approximately 60 volunteers each week to operate the Pantry and additional volunteers to run the holiday food distributions.
  • Out of respect, volunteers are asked to keep identities of clients confidential. We are here to welcome and serve, not to judge or gossip.

Wednesday 10:00 am 12:00 noon Kitchen/Stocking crew: breaks down food, stocks freezers/refrigerators; WalMart delivery every other week
Wednesday 04:00 pm 07:00 pm Last minute Pantry prep, Clerk registers clients and personal shoppers assist clients in shopping; bread delivery
Thursday 09:00 am 12:00 noon Kitchen/Stocking crew: breaks down food, stocks shelves, preps for opening. Clerk registers clients and personal shoppers assist clients in shopping; bread delivery
Friday 09:00 pm 12:00 pm Kitchen/Stocking crew: breaks down food, stocks shelves, preps for opening. Clerk registers clients and personal shoppers assist clients in shopping, plus prep for next week.
WalMart delivery every other week; milk and egg delivery

Volunteer Opportunities:

Student volunteers must be at least 16 years old. They assist kitchen and stocking crews, clients unloading carts, and help the warehouse crew with other, as needed, tasks. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to assist clients as they shop in the Pantry.

Below are some of the jobs that volunteers perform. (We will work with groups that want to do a task together.)

  • pick-up food surpluses from area supermarkets/truck stop/distribution center
  • work on Wednesday morning kitchen crew to break down large quantities of food
  • stock Pantry shelves
  • assist clients as Personal Shopper
  • volunteer as Pantry clerk to register clients
  • sort and stock food in warehouse
  • assist with major food drives, i.e., Mobile Food Pantry and Stamp Out Hunger mail carrier drive
  • assist with Holiday food distribution
  • assist with special events and fundraisers
  • coordinate school and business food drives
  • volunteer to help clean and vacuum Pantry
